The Mandarin

Every year The Mandarin in Bountiful wins award after award for their amazing Chinese food so we thought we would head north and check it out.

The Mandarin has been cooking up delicious Chinese food for over 35 years. As a family owned and operated business you are sure to receive great service from the friendly and knowledgeable staff.

The Mandarin uses fresh, local produce and high quality ingredients. Last summer they used over 2,000 pounds of local produce in just six weeks.
The fresh Crab and Cream Cheese Wontons are amazing!

We also love the Zesty Orange Sesame Shrimp, Pot Stickers and Char Shu. The  Pot Stickers were cooked to perfection!

With so many choices for a main course we recommend the Kung Pao Chicken, Black Bean Chicken, Almond Chicken, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and the Mongolian Pork. Just thinking about these dishes makes me want to go back for more.

You can also ask your server for some recommendations, but really we loved every single thing we have tasted from The Mandarin.

The Mandarin can get quite busy (because everyone loves their food!) but groups of 8 or more can make reservations or smaller groups can call ahead to get on the waiting list.

And of course we can't forget to mention the frozen lemonades that come in a variety of flavors. The Lime and Raspberry were so tasty.

The Mandarin also excels in making delicious desserts! Handcrafted ice creams, bread pudding, crispy bananas, chocolates cake and more.  My favorite being the Frozen Whipped Lemon Cloud (not pictured).

The Mandarin takes a 3 week vacation each year, so they will be closed from September 14th- October 5th.  They will reopen October 6th.  Just in time for their "Woktoberfest", Oct 13-23.  During this time The Mandarin will feature over a dozen menu items in 1/2 size portions, Monday-Thursday, in house dining only.  It's a great way to try something new.
